Alpaca is gearing up for BIG things in August!

Our interns are packing, our team is growing, and our list of schools is shaping up for an amazing August.

Summer break may be in full swing for teachers, principals, students, and parents but the Alpaca team was busy getting ready (and getting extra excited) for our very first back to school season! We are LOVING the school nominations pouring in, a sweet set of interns joined the team to start pack prep, and we’re cooking up some amazing partnerships and sponsors for next year! 170 schools nominated… so we’re accelerating our plan for August!

Wow, Alpaca fans! Thank you so much for nominating so many of your amazing schools in June! We now have more than 170 schools nominated by parents, community members, and friends, so we are speeding up our plan to launch a lot more schools this fall! We love hearing about your incredible teachers, parents, students, and school communities – please keep those nominations coming! The more nominations we have for your school, the faster we can bring you on board.

Students pack up for teachers

We are so grateful for our four awesome Alpaca interns - Adeline, Ady, Emma, and Owen. This crew is working hard this summer to pack up some amazing "supplies and delight" for Omaha teachers. And what's not to love for these interns, with new businesses like Sweet Magnolias and Coneflower Creamery joining Millwork Commons (and Archetype Coffee serving them iced lattes all day!)?! 

New sponsors for fall

Get ready, teachers. We've got some exciting new sponsors lining up for our fall packs. Pack sponsors help us deliver $2 for every $1 of subscription in every pack. We love hearing from teachers about the sponsors they'd most love to see show up in our packs -- and we're listening. If you're a business interested in supporting teachers and bringing your product to new audiences, we'd love to hear from you! 

Experienced teacher joins Alpaca's team

Amazing things happen when experienced educators help Alpaca grow. We are excited to welcome 25 year teaching veteran Barb Stratman to the Alpaca team this month. Barb has taught at every level of school in the Omaha area, and will help us onboard new schools for Alpaca. If you're an educator and you'd like to work with Alpaca, we hope you'll get in touch!

Welcome, creatives!

At Alpaca, we are committed to opening up our space for creative endeavors that support our community and startup ecosystem. This month, we hosted several organizations and events in our space, including the Siembra Nebraska Internship program, an Omaha photographer’s Pride Month photo sessions (@kamrinbakercreative), and the Women in New Endeavors (WINE) event.
